Marlboro Township goes worldwide

November 4, 2016 by

Marlboro Township’s Ninth Annual Multi-Cultural Day is just around the corner – figuratively and literally.

The festival will be presented in just a few days, and Marlboro Township is just down the road. This annual event is a celebration of the area’s ethnic diversity. Admission will be free, and more than 500 people are expected to attend.

Marlboro Township and local businesses will be sponsoring the event. Local businesses and organizations such as Boy Scout Troop 86 – Marlboro Monmouth Council will be contributing financially and in other ways to see that this is a success. The Marlboro Multicultural Day Committee that puts on the festival is composed of real estate agents, engineers, local high school teachers, and accountants who bring cultural diversity to the event.

Festivities will include ethnic food samples, folkloric dances, art and customs displays. Some organizations that usually attend are the Monmouth Chinese School, the Fidelity Chinese School, the Italian American Association of Monmouth County, and Asian food markets.

The event will have three parts. A 1 hour and 45 minute program that will consist of folkloric performances will be first. Following the program, Manalapan guests can enjoy ethnic food samples. Guests will then be invited to view the art and cultural exhibits. Pictures taken of the performances would make interesting calendars.

The festival will be November 20th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Marlboro High School (95 North Main Street, Marlboro NJ).
