November 12, 2016 by

The Assabet Valley Mastersingers will soon be performing at the Algonquin Regional High School along with the school’s choir.

The theme of the concert is based on Nelson Mandela’s inauguration speech, especially his quote:

“The time for healing…to bridge the chasm…has come…Let freedom reign.”

According to the flyer, two compositions will be performed: Ēricks Ešenvalds’ ‘The Time Has Come’ and Karl Jenkins’ ‘The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace’. The concert has been partially funded by grants from the Cultural Councils of Westborough, Southborough, Northborough, Marlborough, Shrewsbury, Hudson, and Berlin.

Active duty military and veterans can attend the concert for free. For all of those who do not meet those criteria, the price is $25 for a general admission ticket, or $20 per ticket for students and senior citizens. Also, there is a $3 discount for tickets purchased ahead of time.
