Mansfield beard lovers invited to spend a night behind bars

Mansfield beard lovers, and those who just appreciate the look of well-kept facial hair, have been invited to add a special event to their calendars that will see them pay a visit to the historic Oho State Reformatory.

‘Beards Behind Bars’ will be back for its second year, and it will give beard aficionados and history buffs alike an opportunity to tour the building and grounds while they learn more about the institution’s history and use in well-known films and “ghosting hunting” television programs.

Guests will be invited to explore the property, and tickets are available for those who would like to compete in the different beard and mustache competitions that will be part of the experience. Tickets are also on offer for those who would prefer to just sit back and cheer on their favorite entries, and the price, which has been set at $25 each, will be the same whether someone chooses to enter a category or simply watch.

The monies raised through this event are slated to be donated to local not-for-profit organizations, and the whole occasion has been organized by Beards of the Old Northwest. A printing services supplier can produce certificates and other awards to be presented to the winners of the competition.

The date for this evening of facial hair fun is June 30. Anyone who would like more information has been invited to visit its Facebook page.
