Spring to be celebrated with beer festivities

Two breweries are planning special events to welcome in the warmer temperatures.

Night Shift Brewing in Everett is planning to hold a Springfest, celebrating its new beers. One beer is an American pale ale, Thievery, that was inspired by The Ballroom Thieves, a local band.

Additional beers introduced will include Night Lite, the brewery’s version of an American light lager; Matisse, a saison brewed with lavender; and a German-style maibock, To Helles and Bock.

This event will be taking place this Saturday, May 6, from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and will be emceed by The Ballroom Thieves. The brewery is sufficiently close to Malden that beer-lovers of the city will want to attend this event.

Hands Craft Ales of Malden will be hosting Maifest later this month. The brewery will be closed and all the festivities will take place in their parking lot. Two sessions will be held, with the first from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, which will be family friendly so children under the age of 12 can attend. The other runs from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm which is only for adults.

There will be games and live music and food for purchase from food trucks. The event will be held on May 20.

Both breweries might consider printing flyers with more information about these events and the various beers and beverages that will be spotlighted at each event.
