New facility for seniors to meet target opening date

Forestdale Park in Malden, a senior living center that will be offering some innovative features, recently announced that it plans to open its doors in early 2018.

Dinah Olanoff, Executive Director of Forestdale Park, said that ground was broken in July 2016 and it is expected that the facility will open in February 2018.

The announcement was made at a restaurant in Melrose, and Olanoff added that this was the official debut in that community, which borders Malden. Forestdale Park will be a home for seniors from both Malden and Melrose so that they can keep their ties with their family, friends, and the community.

The location of the facility is directly on the border so those from either community can think of Forestdale Park as being close to what is important to them.

Volunteers of America, a nonprofit organization based in Virginia, owns the facility. The mission of the organization is to focus on underserved segments of the population. Olanoff explained that it wants to ensure that people have access to affordable yet high quality living options.

The innovative program of the facility, to be called Connected Life, bridges the areas of memory care and assisted living.

Marketing services could be used by facilities such as Forestdale Park to provide general information about their services and amenities, and to attract people to any programs they plan to offer.
