Wisconsin Public Television will be holding its 25th annual Garden Expo very shortly.

The three-day event will draw over 20,000 people to see the latest trends in landscaping, gardening, and edibles. Proceeds will go to Wisconsin Public Television.

Over 150 stage demonstrations and educational seminars will be teaching new and tried-and-true gardening techniques. Hundreds of artists, nonprofits, independent contractors, and businesses will have representatives on hand to discuss the latest in food, landscaping, and gardening issues. Many of these will surely be passing out information flyers discussing their goods and services.

UW Extension horticulture experts will also be available for discussing innovative gardening techniques. Special guests will include Juan Gonzales from Los Abuelos Farley Farm, Mr. Plant Geek, and Kerry Ann Mendez – author of ‘The Budget-Wise Gardener’.

The Great Lakes Aquascaping Championships will be hosted by Madison Area Aquatic Hobbyists. The artful underwater landscapes will be built onsite Friday and Saturday and remain on display through Sunday.

The Wisconsin Nursery & Landscape Association will have a central garden for guests to walk through. Attendees will be able to purchase tools, seeds, and everything necessary to get gardens and yards ready when spring finally gets here.

A Farmers’ Market will be up and running on Sunday. Here, around two dozen local farmers as well as food retailers and artisans, will have produce for sale.

The Garden Expo will be from February 9 through 11 at Alliant Energy Center’s Exhibition Hall, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way.
