Festival Foods is once again presenting its Shake the Lake Festival in a few weeks. Entertainment, live music, market, food and beverages will be available before the Wisconsin’s largest fireworks show. Admission will be free.

David the Bullet Smith will be launching himself into water as the Human Cannonball. The Kids Zone will have a petting zoo, inflatable zip lines and an inflatable obstacle course. The city’s premier roller derby league, The Mad Rollin Dolls will have a demonstration of their skating skills.

The Rock Stage on the Monona Terrace’s west side will have Saint Motel and The Record Company. The 96.3 Start Country Stage on the east side will feature Parmalee, Russell Dickerson, Trent Harmon and Seth Ennis.

The Shake the Lake Market will have a lot of everything from fresh produce from local farmers and original works by local artisans to one-of-a-kind items made by our area’s crafts people and antiques by local antique dealers.

There will be even more food and beverage vendors than last year. Along with the usual summer fare of hot dogs, cotton candy and snow cones there will be some of our city’s greatest chefs preparing their specialties for sale. Local beverage companies may be passing out promotional drinkware.

Shake the Lake will be from 4:00 until 11:00 pm June 24th on John Nolen Drive between Blair and Broom Streets, Madison. Fireworks will begin at 10:00 pm.
