Madison families to hang out at Family Food Fest

Madison families will be turning out for the upcoming 2017 Family Food Fest – a celebration of active learning and healthy eating where free food vouchers will go to the first 200 guests.

Activities will include food demonstrations, obstacle courses, dance performances, and face painting. Over 30 exhibitors will bring interactive displays. Some exhibitors will include The League of Women Voters, Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems, and the Madison Public Library.

Food-related businesses will include Organic Valley, Sassy Cow Creamery, and Just Coffee Cooperative, while sports will be represented by the likes of FreeWheel Bikes, i9 Sports, and the Madison Elite Track Club.

The Midvale/Lincoln Parent-Teacher Organization will be holding a bike rodeo, which will feature helmet adjustments, bike-tune ups, and a skills course.

The bevy of food carts will include Noosh, Pickle Jar, and Taquitos Marimar.

The fest will have live entertainment. The Lincoln Mexican Folkloric and Nepali Dance Groups will start things off. Next, the West High Majestic Hip Hop Group will take the stage followed by the Midnight Voices. Bucky Badger will perform right before the ¼ Mile Challenge, and the East High Kioja Dance Team and the East High Hmong Dance Club will end the afternoon. The raffle winners will then be announced.

Madison families will want to clear their calendars this Sunday May 21st and head out to the Near North Side, 911 Sequoia Trail, Madison between the hours of 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.
