Crunch time for Madison apple event

The North/Eastside Senior Coalition will be presenting its 16th Annual Apple Fest later this month. The one-day fest will offer plenty of apples and baked items that contain them.

The bake sale will have pies, cookies, cakes, bars, and cupcakes that are made from the much cherished fruit. Activities slated for the day besides the bake sale will include a used book sale, boutique, and gently used jewelry sale. There will be a snack bar that will be serving slushies and popcorn and the kids can enjoy a carnival that will have activities such as face painting.

Raffle and drawing prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Sloppy Joes are on the lunch menu and entertainment will be going on all day. The NESCO Sassy Steppers will be having their debut at noon.

Family members friends and will want to get some good photos of their performance for possible later poster printing. Following them will be Marcy and the Highlights. Gilda’s Glee Club is scheduled to perform next. The fest entertainment will wrap up with the DeWayne Keys Harmonica Hour.

The Fest will be on Saturday, September 24 from 9:30 am until 3:30 pm at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center, 1625 Northport Drive, Madison. The used book sale will run from Thursday, September 22 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday during the Fest.
