Loves Park ICTA employee places second in tech competition

Trevor Shrader, a CIT Isuzu Truck employee from Loves Park, Illinois, recently took the runner-up spot in the 12th Annual Isuzu One Grand Prix World Technician Competition, along with another American employee from Georgia.

The competition, which took place at the Isuzu Motors Limited training center in Fujisawa, Japan, forced competitors to undergo difficult written exams and real-life tests regarding diesel technology. In order to win, those competing had to produce outstanding results in both categories in order to be considered for one of the three winning positions.

In order to participate in this competition, Shrader and his partner had to first beat all competitors in a North America competition and go through three weeks of training to prepare for the world competition. In total, there were 47 other technicians competing for the honors.

The president of Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Shaun Skinner, said::

“Trevor and Tim represented ICTA beautifully. Thanks to them, this was our best finish ever in the World Technician Competition.

“It’s also a testament to the investment we’ve made in our training centers in both Pennsylvania and California.”
