Awareness groups to spread cheer in Louisville

Together, the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation and Boehringer Ingelheim have made it their mission this year to bring holiday spirit to those living with lung cancer, as well as their families.

The mission, called Bring Hope Home for the Holidays, will be using the support of volunteers to support one lucky nominee throughout 21 different cities for the holiday season. One of the locations in which nominations will be accepted is Louisville, Kentucky.

Those who wish to nominate someone in their area for Bring Hope Home can do so through December 20 on the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation website. It is vital that those who nominate someone know when the nominee will be home so that volunteers will be able to come and visit them. These dates must also be before December 20.

For those who may not know anyone to nominate but who still wants to assist in the mission, more information about volunteering and signing up can also be found on the foundation’s website. Some tasks that volunteers can sign up for include decorating houses, organizing a singalong with friends and family for the nominee, and creating and decorating holiday cards. Volunteers must also provide dates when they will be available and will have to sign a standard appearance release form prior to volunteering for the foundation.
