Tour to showcase Longwood area gardens

March 19, 2018 by

Gardeners from Longwood, along with the rest of Seminole County, will be opening their gates to their fellow green thumbs for a day of horticultural inspiration.

The self-guided tour will give those who participate an opportunity to be inspired by the area’s flower, vegetable and other gardens, as well as unique palm tree plantings and outdoor art. At each of the locations, a Master Gardener will be on site to answer questions and share tips about how they can keep their own properties looking their best.

The Seminole County Garden Tour has been organized by the UF/IFAS Extension of Seminole County, and those who wish to take the tour will be required to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement before they set out. These can be picked up ahead of time at Seminole Count Extension, and they will also be made available at the different stops on the tour. Stationery printers can be called upon to craft maps and other items for this type of community-based occasion.

Tickets to take part in the event are being offered to the public for $10.00 each. Only a limited number are being sold for the tour, which will be held on April 21. The extension office’s website can be consulted for further details about the occasion, along with information about purchasing tickets for the day’s activities.
