London teen’s photographs to be featured in VP’s home

The creative efforts of a teenager from London will be on display for all who visit the home of Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden this holiday season.

Two photographs taken by Emily Jahr, a ninth grade homeschooled student from London, will be featured in a digital photo frame on display at the Bidens’ home. The photographs were selected as part of the National Geographic Kids My Shot program. The photos will be visible to hundreds of people who visit the residence.

Two of Jahr’s pictures were chosen to be on display. One features a young girl who is standing in a pose that is meant to stand for gratitude. The other is a portrait of Jahr’s uncle, who served in the Gulf War. Jahr was particularly happy that the portrait of her uncle was selected as a winner, as it is an image that is particularly important to her.

Photographers can use printing services to produce physical copies of the pictures they take. Along with being shown on the rotating digital display in the Bidens’ home, one Jahr’s photos is also reproduced on an ornament hanging from the Christmas tree in their house.

The recognition from the Bidens and National Geographic is not the first time Jahr has been praised for her pictures. She won first place in the youth division photography contest sponsored by Cumberland Valley.
