March 1, 2018 by

The St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival is taking place this month in downtown Lexington. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Lexington Habitat for Humanity.

The day is set to start off with the Blessing of the Keg and will be filled with plenty of Irish entertainment from dancers, pipers and musicians. Some of the musical guests set to perform at the festival are Drunk and Sailor, Liam’s Fancy and the Bold Roberts. Other groups that will be performing during the day are the Bluegrass Ceili Academy, the Kentucky McTeggart Irish Dancers, the WSR Pipes & Drums and the Lexington Irish Dancers.

There will also be a variety of traditional food available for purchase as well as Irish-related merchandise including arts and crafts. Many of the vendors may be handing out various freebies such as pens and fridge magnets to those who stop by their booths.

The 39th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at 1:00 PM. It will start off on Main Street, turn on to North Mill Street and finish off at Short Street. It will feature marching bands, characters and local dignitaries.

Some of the vendors who will be selling their products at the festival may decide to invest in promotional products from a Lexington printing company.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival will take place on March 17 beginning at 10:45 AM. For more information, call 859-288-2927.
