Annual spring festival returns to Lexington

April 3, 2017 by

The 23rd annual Mayfest Arts Fair is taking place next month for two days, presented by the Downtown Lexington Corporation.

The festival is held on Mother’s Day weekend each year and is a good place to find appropriate gifts. There are expected to be over 70 juried arts and crafts vendors on hand to sell unique items, such as handmade jewelry, fashion accessories, paintings, pottery, and ceramics. In addition, there will be musical performances and literary readings taking place on the stage.

Food and drink will be available for purchase. There will also be plenty of children’s activities to ensure the young ones have an enjoyable festival also.

In past years, the festival has included artists’ demonstrations, a Young Artists pavilion, and strolling performers. No doubt this year’s festival will carry on some of those activities.

This event is an opportunity for Houston artists, many of whom are likely to invest in business card or postcard printing services. Some artists use postcards in a dual role to both advertise their work and provide contact information.

The Mayfest Arts Fair will be held at Gratz Park and on Mill and Market Streets from May 13 to 14. Admission is free of charge. For the latest information about this popular annual event, contact the Downtown Lexington Corporation at 859-425-2590.
