The Lexus of Lexington 5K Run/Walk is taking place next month in Lexington. It is a fundraising event for the Woodhill Community Center.

The run consists of two separate races – a 5K Run /Walk and a one-mile Kids’ Fun Run. Fees for the 5K are $25 in advance or $35 on race day, and those who register by tomorrow, June 23 will receive an event T-shirt.

The race is chip-timed and awards will be given to the top three males and females in several age categories, and to the top three male and female overall finishers. Fees for the Kids’ Fun Run are $10 in advance and $20 on race day. The fun run is open to children between the ages of 4 and 12 and everyone who completes the run will receive a finisher’s medal.

Participants are allowed to bring their dogs on a short leash. After the race, there will be a variety of children’s activities taking place. Organizers are still accepting applications for volunteers. The bibs and printed T-shirts handed out at these events are often provided by Lexington print companies.

The Lexus of Lexington 5K Run/Walk will be held at the Keeneland Race Course on July 8 from 8:00 to 10:00 AM; the children’s run begins at 8:00 AM and the 5K starts at 8:30 AM. To learn more, visit the Facebook page.
