Annual dog show returns to Lexington

July 31, 2017 by

The Bluegrass Classic Dog Show is taking place beginning at the end of next month and will run for five days.

Presented by the Lexington Kennel Club in association with the North Kentucky and Mid-Kentucky Kennel Clubs, this is an American Kennel Club sanctioned event that sees people from all over the state enter their dogs into the all-breed competition in conformation and obedience. Among other awards, they will be competing for best-in-show.

There are set to be junior showmanship classes, obedience trials, and rallies. There will also be lure coursing, dock diving, and a barn hunt competition. Other events are set to include the AKC Owner-Handler series and the Canine Good Citizen Test.

Vendors will also be on hand to sell a variety of dog-related items such as toys, carriers, and clothing as well as general merchandise and services.

This event will likely attract dog owners and lovers from all over the Lexington area. To advertise, organizers often contact a local stationery printing firm to provide them with products such as brochures and booklets that can be inexpensively distributed.

The Bluegrass Classic Dog Show will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park from August 31 to September 4. Admission is free, and parking is $5 per day or $15 for five days. Call 859-223-8873 for the most current information.
