Orange High School plans Gatsby party

January 30, 2017 by

The Freshman Class Cabinet of Orange High School in Lewis Center, Ohio, is hosting a winter formal early next month.

The dance has a ‘Great Gatsby’ theme, and attendees are encouraged to dress like Gatsby, Daisy, or any of the characters from the classic American novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Instructors will be available to teach students how to swing dance, and there will be some swing numbers played, though most of the music planned is contemporary.

A ‘pre-dance’ is scheduled so people can learn new steps, which they can they try out during the main event itself. The organizers are also providing a check room for coats and shoes, as well as food and beverages. There will also be a photo booth so attendees can save a memory of the evening.

There are a few rules to follow: Orange High students need to bring their school ID and their printed ticket, while guests will be asked to bring identification, and complete a guest pass. Attendees are expected to conduct themselves appropriately.

The winter formal Gatsby dance is scheduled for February 4, from 7:00 pm until 10:30 pm. The pre-dance lessons will take place from 7:00 pm until 7.30 pm, when the main dancing starts.

Events like this can benefit if organizers work with banner printing companies, which can create colorful banners to match the evening’s theme, and which can be used to decorate the venue.
