Lebanon sets grand opening for Bike Park

Lebanon has a new park: the Premier Health Atrium Medical Center Bike Park, and is getting ready to celebrate with a grand opening.

Attendees at the opening ceremony will enjoy food, music, giveaways, clinics, demonstrations of mountain bikes, and exhibitions by professional BMX riders.

The park is the brainchild of members of the Parks and Recreation Board of Lebanon, who wanted to create a bike park with a lot of amenities for residents to enjoy. They used city-owned property on East Turtlecreek Union Road, and developed the 45-acre to include a Cyclo-cross course, jump line, skills area, pump track, and a mountain bike trail. This is the only park of its kind in the area.

Funding for the park came from a $200,000 state grant, and another $60,000 from private donors. The park’s major sponsors are the Atrium Medical Center and Premier Health.

The president of Atrium Medical Center Foundation, Michael Stautberg, said that both Atrium and Premier hope to improve people’s health by creating facilities like the park to encourage exercise. Such amenities will help residents become more active, and also provide an additional recreational opportunity for everyone to enjoy.

The opening ceremony for the new park will be June 2, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Events like this can be enhanced if organizers work with a banner printing company to create festive banners for decoration.
