Forum explains recent and upcoming changes in Vegas

The Focus Las Vegas: Smart City Initiative forum is taking place next month, presented by the Leadership Foundation of Greater Las Vegas.

Las Vegas has recently installed a new traffic system that monitors the state of stop signs and traffic patterns in real time, allowing them to control when lights change in order to avoid gridlock. The forum will explain this and discuss other ways of incorporating smart technology into the city that is sustainable and environmentally conscious.

Speakers at the forum will include Sandra Douglas-Morgan from AT & T Services, Inc., John Fountain of Cox Communications, Don Snyder from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas, and Tina Quigly of RTC Southern Nevada. Topics of discussion will include intelligent traffic management, smart parking and future innovations.

This event will be of interest to the general public, as well as alumni of Leadership Las Vegas and Leadership Advance. No doubt many of those planning to attend will be placing a new business card printing order in advance so they have enough cards to exchange during the morning.

The Focus Las Vegas: Smart City Initiative will be held at The Innevation Center on August 17 from 7:30 to 9:30 AM. Tickets are $25 each. To learn more about this event, contact the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce at 702-641-5822.
