Lansdale plans Founders Day celebration

August 25, 2017 by

Lansdale, Pennsylvania, is gearing up to celebrate Founders Day with a day full of family-friendly activities, culminating in a fireworks display. This year, the theme of the celebration is “Moving through the Years,” and reflects the fact that Lansdale has become a transportation hub for the region.

Among the activities planned is a Festival of the Arts; a water battle between members of the Fairmount Fire Company; a Health Expo; and a Food Truck Festival. People who own vintage cars are invited to join the parade of classic vehicles. Bob Kreamer, the CEO of the Boys and Girls Club, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The fun takes place August 26, 2017. The farmers’ market runs from 9 am until 1 pm, with the opening ceremony at 10 am. The arts festival is from 10 am until 4 pm; the health fair is from 10 am until 2 pm; the classic car parade begins at 11 am; and the water battle starts at 1 pm. Food and a beer garden are available from 1 pm until 7 pm; the Rollin’ & Tumblin’ band plays from 1 pm until 3.30 pm, then Philadelphia Funk Authority plays from 4.30 pm until 7 pm. Fireworks at 9 pm end the celebration.

Since Founders Day events take place in many locations, officials can help make the day more enjoyable by working with a flyer printing company to create a handout, including a map that lists the events.
