The 79th annual Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival is taking place next month for 10 days. This popular event attracts approximately 250,000 visitors each year.

The festival will no doubt have something to appeal to every member of the family. There is a carnival featuring rides and games, and unlimited ride wristbands can be purchased for $20 in advance or $35 on site. There will also be livestock exhibits, a demolition derby, and monster trucks.

Music will be provided by several artists, including The Doobie Brothers, Gabriel Iglesias, and Cole Swindell. Tickets for the concerts range from $20 up to $80 and include fair admission.

Also taking place will be the 3rd annual Alfie’s People’s Choice Food Competition from August 18 to 20. Competitors compete in food, dessert, and beverage categories. Winners receive a rosette.

Several local vendors and exhibitors will be on hand to showcase and sell their products, and food and drink will be available for purchase. Organizers may wish to invest in banners from a Lancaster printing company to highlight specific areas of the fair.

The Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival will be held at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds from August 18 to 27. Admission is $7 until August 18 and $11 after, or $8 for seniors and special needs. Call 661-948-6060 for the most current information.
