Market encourages the public to shop locally

The 51st semi-annual Antelope Valley Flea Market and Shop Local Showcase is taking place next month in Lancaster, presented by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.

Over 300 vendors are expected to participate in this event. They will include local small businesses, artists and crafters, and members of the public who have excess items to sell. Spaces are still available and measure 10 x 10 feet with a draped back.

The flea market and shop local showcase will be separate and will each feature special activities. Some of those activities will include two fashion shows, a train ride for the kids, a show and shine car show, and musical performances from Final Cut and Mama’s Hot Sauce. Door prizes will also be awarded throughout the day.

Sponsorships are also available for businesses who would like to help but do not have the time to host a vendor booth of their own.

It is very likely that many of the vendors who are planning to participate will be placing a new business card printing order with their favorite Lancaster printing company. The cards can be handed out to anyone who stops by their booths.

The Flea Market and Shop Local Showcase will be held at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds on May 7 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tickets are $8 for early birds who will be admitted at 7:00 am and $6 for regular customers. Call 661-948-4518 to learn more.
