Downtown Lancaster celebrates holiday season

November 17, 2017 by

A Magical Blvd Christmas is taking place next month, presented by the City of Lancaster Parks, Recreation and Arts department.

A traditional Christkindlmarkt will be set up to sell a variety of Christmas-related items that will be perfect for gift giving. There will also be general vendors representing local businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs. A number of food vendors will also be on hand to sell treats and refreshments.

There will be lights, wreaths, and Christmas decorations on display, and several holiday scenes will be set up. Children can take a train ride and then make crafts in Santa’s Workshop. Of course, they will also have the opportunity to meet with Santa and have their picture taken. Other activities will include sledding on real snow.

Visitors are asked to bring an unwrapped toy that will be donated to AVTA’s Stuff-a-Bus campaign.

Vendors in the Christkindlmarkt paid $75 for a 10 x 10-foot space, and general vendors paid $275. In order to get their investment back, it is likely that many of the vendors will make an effort to decorate their booths. Many will likely contact a favorite Lancaster printing company for signage and banners.

A Magical Blvd Christmas will be held between Beech and Genoa Avenues on December 9 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. For the most up-to-date information, call 666-723-6077.
