Annual arts showcase highlights contemporary art

The 32nd annual Cedarfest All Media Arts Festival opens this month and will be running in Lancaster until August.

The exhibition is set to feature works from some of the area’s best artists. This is a juried show and all of the pieces were chosen by Robin Rosenthal and Nicolas Shake. There are cash awards for the top three in the Best of Exhibition, as well as a People’s Choice award.

Heavily featured in the exhibition will be an art installation by resident artist Dani Dodge, called ‘Personal Territories’.

There will be several public events taking place related to this show at various venues. On July 1, Joe Davies Heritage Airpark will feature ‘Horizons beyond the homefront’ that will give people the opportunity to make their own paper airplanes and launch them. The LA County Library in Lancaster on July 15 is set to feature ‘The setting for my story is home’. Participants will tell their story to an artist who will create a title and print it on a vintage library card.

It is likely that flyers and other advertising materials will be distributed in Lancaster to spread the word about this festival.

Cedarfest will be held at the Museum of Art and History (MOAH) in Lancaster from June 17 to August 5. For the most up-to-date information, call 661-723-6250.
