The 11th annual Ralston House .5K run/walk is taking place at the end of this month in Lakewood, presented by the cities of Arvada and Lakewood.

The race equates to about a third of a mile, and is open to people of all ages. Registration fees are $20 in advance for adults or $25 on the day of the race, and $15 for children aged 12 and under and seniors or $20 on the day. For a group of 10 racers, fees are $120 in advance or $150, and $60 in advance or $70 for groups of four. All participants will receive a T-shirt, which is the sort of item often provided by a Lakewood printing company.

In addition to the race, there will be children’s activities such as games, balloon animals and a bean bag toss. Food will also be available for purchase. Representatives from the Lakewood SWAT team and the West Metro Fire Department will be dropping by too.

Ralston House provides services for abused children. This includes legal assistance, medical services, and family and victim support.

The deadline to register for the Ralston House .5K is August 23, and it will be held at Belmar in Lakewood on August 26 from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. To learn more, contact Tara Roesener at 720-898-6752 or Kathy Pettit at 720-898-6738.
