Lake Worth morning to focus on its natural side

April 15, 2018 by

Lake Worth residents of all ages are welcome to come a morning of activities that will focus on learning more about the natural world around them.

Laurel Oak Nature School and Garden will be hosting a variety of activities that will give families a chance to explore everything from tiny butterflies and other insects to tall native trees. It will be self-guided, and guests can go along at their own pace.

Scavenger hunts will be set up by the organizers for anyone who would like to challenge themselves. Binoculars, butterfly nets, magnifying lenses, and other observational tools will also be available for anyone who wants to get a closer look at the local wildlife. Print shops in the local area can be contacted to provide simple field guides and other materials for this type of occasion.

Visitors are invited to bring along art materials, and clipboards and nature journals are also recommended so they can record what they see and experience. The admission price per family is $5, and the organizers noted that the mornings are usually the time of day when the garden is at its most active.

Morning in the Garden has been planned for June 1 starting at 9:00 am. It will be held at 4361 Hypoluxo Road in Lake Worth. More information about this, as well as other programming the garden has to offer, can be found on its website.
