The Florida Communities of Excellence Conference and Awards Gala is taking place next month in West Palm Beach.

Community organizations from all over the county will be honored with awards in categories such as water conservation, energy efficiency, civic volunteerism, and communications and community.

Prior to the beginning of the conference, the Managers of Excellence luncheon will take place with keynote speaker Meredith Oliver. Lunch will take place from 12:00 pm to1:30 pm and tickets are $85 each.

There is set to be a community video showcase that will highlight the nominated organizations, and there are three finalists in each category. The day will consist of presentations, speeches, and discussions about community. Vendors will also be showcasing their products and services.

It will finish off with a gala reception and the presentation of the awards, so no doubt the winners will have the opportunity to address the audience.

Organizations in several communities have been nominated for the awards, including those from Lake Worth. Winners will likely invest in marketing services to ensure that residents and prospective residents know about it.

The Conference and Awards Gala will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center on May 13 from 1:30 – 8:00 pm. Admission is free for the public, community leaders and board members, but vendor representatives pay $125 or $195 including the lunch.
