Gala to make life easier for stray dogs and cats

The Coming to the Rescue gala will be taking place next month in nearby Pleasant Hill, raising funds for the Contra Costa Humane Society.

Over 200 guests are expected to attend this year’s event. They will be treated to a buffet dinner with great desserts, wines and beers from Bay Area vineyards and breweries, and musical entertainment. There will also be live and silent auctions for a variety of travel and other packages, along with door prizes and special guests.

Everyone who enters the venue will receive a free gift bag, which will be filled with promotional products, moneysaving coupon, and samples provided by event sponsors, who will likely represent companies from all over the area, including Lafayette.

Sponsorships are available from $125 to $2,500, and contributors will be recognized on all print advertising, invitations, and signage at the event.

The Contra Costa Humane Society is a small shelter that provides foster programs, a cat shelter, pet food to low-income owners, and low-cost spay and neuter services for animals.

The Coming to the Rescue gala will be held at the Perara Pavilion at Pleasant Hill Community Center on August 24 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Tickets are $50 each. To find out more about this event, or about the Contra Costa Humane Society, call 925-279-2247.
