Annual festival goes to the dogs

April 7, 2018 by

The 5th annual Dogtown Downtown festival is taking place next month in Lafayette, presented by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.

The festival features a parade, vendors, photo booths and the Top Dog competition. The day will start off with yoga in the Library Pavilion at 9:30 AM. The parade will begin at 10:00 AM and will travel down Golden Gateway to Lafayette Plaza. It will feature floats, marching bands and lots of dogs.

Festivities will take place at the Lafayette Plaza. In past years there has been a doggie fashion show, contests, and interactive art activities at the library.

Vendor booths are still available for purchase. Fees are $100 for Lafayette Chamber of Commerce members and $250 for nonmembers. Sponsorships are also available for $500 up to $1,000.

An excuse for the public to show off their dogs and to have some fun with their neighbors, the event is also a good opportunity for vendors to showcase their products and services to the community. Many of the vendors may invest in banner printing services from a Lafayette print shop to bring more attention to their booths.

The Dogtown Downtown festival will be held at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center and Lafayette Plaza on May 19 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 noon. Admission is free. Call 925-284-7404 to learn more.
