Delray Beach makes arty start to 2017

Our calendars will be turning to 2017 sooner than we may be ready, but the New Year will be ushering in another round of traditional events.

One of the first of them will be the Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts, which will be celebrating its 28 year. Admission will be free.

The Festival will be juried, and hundreds of artists and craftspeople will be selling and exhibiting their work along a one-mile span of Atlantic Avenue on the ocean front.

All art will be handcrafted and will be in the artwork genres including glass, painting, fiber, mixed media, photography, and jewelry. Most items will start at $15 and some of the life-sized sculptures will run over $50,000.

Artists and patrons here in Jupiter alike will want to remember to get their digital business cards updated or get some business card printing done, as artists can be contacted for purchase of their art in the future or possibly for personalized pieces. The actual artists will be required to man the booths during the duration of the show.

The event will be January 21st and 22nd, 2017 in Downtown Delray Beach on E. Atlantic Avenue between A1A and US 1. It will begin at 10:00 am and wind up around 5:00 am. Well-mannered pets will be welcome.
