Jefferson invited to explore local healthy food initiative

November 5, 2017 by

Jefferson residents and business owners who would like to learn more about offering healthier food choices to their customers may want to make plans to attend a upcoming area event.

New Orleans’s Propeller Incubator has arranged a Corner Store Community Forum to discuss its initiative to help corners stores offer healthier choices to their customers. This way, everyone will have access to foods that are good for them, no matter where in the community they might call home.

The function will include a dinner, and the attendees will be invited to share their views on the initiative and also provide any feedback or ideas they might have for how to make the project a success. There will be a discussion of what types of produce to offer, how it should be priced and also how to let the public know that the program is up and running. Presentation folders filled with information about a community based project like this can be prepared by a printer to distribute during meetings, information sessions and other events.

The meeting will run from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at 4035 Washington Avenue in New Orleans. There will be no fee charged to participate, and the dinner will be served compliments of the organizers. Anyone who would like to find out more or who has feedback about the initiative can contact Propeller through its website.
