Janesville celebrates season with Holiday Light Show

November 14, 2017 by

Janesville’s November calendars are beginning to fill with seasonal activities, and one sure to be on them will be the 2017 Holiday Light Show. The organizers are hoping to beat last year’s attendance of 26,837.

More than 2,500 milk jug luminaries will be lining the paths, and over 250,000 lights will be decorating the 100 trees. The Garden’s tallest trees will have 500 icicle lights dangling from their branches.

Concessions will be available thanks to Steve’s Keli Dog House and Rollin Pin Sugar Cookies. Over 4,000 cookies and over 5,000 cups of cider, cocoa, and coffee are expected to be sold.

Santa will be making his appearance on six nights, and live entertainment will be on nine nights. The Grand Opening and the next evening will kick off the seasonal light show experience. Free shuttles will be available from Dawson Field at 920 Beloit Avenue to the venue during the entire run of the event.

The Holiday Light show will be at Rotary Botanical Gardens at 1455 Palmer Drive with the Grand Opening on Thanksgiving weekend, November 24 and November 25. The show will continue to run December 8 through 10, 14 through 23, and 26 through 31. The event will open at 4:30 pm and lights will go out at 9:00 pm. This yearly event is one of the major fundraising events for the Gardens.
