Touch-A-Truck fundraiser coming to Huntsville this month

August 3, 2016 by

A family friendly fundraiser allowing children and adults an up-close, hands-on view of a variety of emergency vehicles and machinery, Touch-A-Truck, is being hosted by the Alabama Chapter of Women of AT&T.

Kids of all ages (even those who are adults) enjoy exploring vehicles that they would normally only see at a distance. This is the rationale behind a new kind of fundraiser known as a ‘Truck/Heavy Equipment Fundraising Show’. This kind of event can be customized for the amount of space available, the potential attendees, and the number and type of vehicles and machinery that can be obtained.

Huntsville’s Touch-A-Truck event will be used to raise money for AT&T’s WOA-AL Scholarship Fund for STEM students. Among the vehicles that will be showcased at the event, which will be held in Huntsville at 400 Diamond Drive, are fire engines, mobile communications trailers, police cars, and ambulances. The event provides the various organizations that bring their vehicles with the opportunity to provide educational flyers or brochures to the public.

Admission per person for the August 13 show is $5, with the option of purchasing a $20 family pack. Admission is free for kids aged two and under. Touch-A-Truck will be held 10 am to 2 pm, with local food trucks being available 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for attendees who wish to make a purchase. Activities will include live action demonstrations, face-painting, and a children’s book walk.
