New festival celebrates the margarita

May 22, 2018 by

The Summer Showdown Margarita Festival is taking place next month in Humble, and is a presentation of Showcase Kingwood.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of margarita flavors, as well as buy some to take home. The traditional margarita is tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice, with salt rimming the glass and served with or without ice. Guests of the festival will have the opportunity to taste many different flavors to satisfy their personal tastes.

Several local food trucks will also be on hand, including Baby’s Burgers, American Seafood and Lobster, and the Lokahi Fire Café.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Calle Swing, Irie Time, and the Bon Jovi tribute band Let it Rock. In addition, Honoura Tahiti will be hula dancing and performing a fire show.

This is the first year of this festival and, depending on its success, it may be repeated next year. To encourage people to attend, the organizer is likely to have invested in flyer printing from a Houston print shop.

The Summer Showdown Margarita Festival will be held at the Humble Civic Center and Arena Complex on June 16 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM. Tickets are $15 in advance and $25 at the door; admission is restricted to those aged 21 and over. For the most current information, contact Allyson Mansfield of Showcase Kingwood at 832-915-2915.
