The Taste of Kingwood Main Street Festival is taking place on the last Saturday of this month.

The festival is set to feature musical entertainment from the Kingwood School of Rock, a kids’ zone with face painting and games and appearances by former NFL cheerleaders; a DJ will also be playing music throughout the day. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample a variety of food from a variety of local restaurants and to shop from area vendors and local merchants.

A major part of this year’s festival will be the grand opening of the Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center. There will be an open house with tours, free health screenings and a seminar on concussions led by Dr. Tony Jia. Tthe seminar will take place twice, at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. The ribbon cutting will be held at 10:00 AM and the Houston Rocket’s mascot, Clutch will be making an appearance.

Many of the vendors, some of who may be from nearby communities such as Humble, will be handing out promotional products to people who stop by their booths. Some of the products they hand out may include pens, fridge magnets and postcards.

The Taste of Kingwood Main Street Festival will be held on Main Street on August 25 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Admission is free. For more information, call LynAnn Centofanti at 713-704-4000.
