The 27th annual Houston International Jazz Festival is taking place over three days next month. It is a fundraising event for Jazz Education, Inc.

The festival takes place during national Jazz Month and is set to feature some of the top jazz artists from around the world.

The event will kick off with a Friday night party at the Chillum Hookah Lounge and Grill on August 4 from 8:00 to 11:30 PM. It will feature food, drink and live jazz music. Tickets are $20 each.

It will be followed the next day by the Battle of Brass Bands, Showdown Throwdown: Texas vs. Louisiana. The To be Continued Brass Band, the Bayou City Brass Band and the Hot8 Brass Band will be competing to be named the best. This will take place at Warehouse Live on August 5 beginning at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $30 for standing general admission, $45 for seated and $55 for VIP; admission is only open to those aged 18 and over.

Other events taking place will include a performance by the SJW All-Stars and several jazz workshops.

No doubt organizers of this Houston event will decide to invest in poster printing services to help get the word out.

The Houston International Jazz Festival will be held at various venues in Houston from August 4 to 6. To get the latest information about this year’s schedule, call 713-839-7000.
