There are plenty of events taking place in Houston on and around Independence Day. Two local establishments are hosting their own family-friendly celebrations.

The first event is the 4th of July Weekend at CityCentre. It is set to feature four nights of family activities and concerts. There will be a different concert each night at 7:00 PM that will feature the Pete Simple Band, Janell McDonald and Grace Point, the Max Flinn Band and the People’s Choice Band. The performance on July 4th will be interrupted by a 15-minute fireworks display at 9:30 PM.

On July 4th itself, Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens will be holding their own Independence Day celebration. It will feature musical and other performers, arts and crafts and plenty of family-friendly activities. Refreshments will also be available for purchase. There will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence and guests can sign a giant reproduction of that document.

There are lots of choices for Houston families to celebrate the holiday, it is likely organizers of these events will distribute flyers in the community to help advertise them.
