Henderson to host art fest

Residents in Henderson and the surrounding area are getting ready for the Art Festival of Henderson. The two-day event brings together local artists to display their work while also featuring competition, entertainment, and fun.

Any local artist or crafter in the area can sign up for a booth to showcase their work. Over 100 booths will be set up for the fest and will feature paintings, ceramics, sculptures, jewelry, fashion, graphic design, and printing. The event will also have an imagination station where artists can participate in a chalk art competition. The design is left open to the artist, and the top two drawings in the three age categories will win cash prizes.

In addition to the arts and crafts on display, the festival will also have entertainment. Two different stages will be set up, one for adults and one for youth, with live music running throughout the day. Headliners include the Moanin’ Blacksnakes, Extreme Measures, Showbiz Kidz, and the Shapiro Project. The event will also have some special demonstrations by artists as well as a wide variety of food vendors.

The Art Festival of Henderson will be held on May 13th and 14th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day at the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. Water St. Anyone looking for more information on the free event should visit the website.
