Tickets have gone on sale for the second annual GameTimePA Athletes of the Year Awards ceremony.

The ceremony will include a dinner, a review of this year’s nominated athletes, and a keynote speech from Chris Doleman.

Doleman is a former pro football player, a hall of famer, and a graduate of William Penn High School. He was the number four overall pick during the 1985 NFL draft and played for the Vikings, the Falcons, and the 49ers. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012.

Organizers of sports banquets and awards ceremonies can use mailing services to make sure the appropriate people are invited to the event. The Athletes of the Year Awards recognizes the hard work of student athletes in 22 varsity sports. The top athletes of the past academic year, both male and female, will be recognized during the dinner.

Speaking to the Evening Sun about the decision to Doleman speak at the event, Jared Bean, who is the president of the Evening Sun, GameTimePA, and the York Daily Record, stated:

“On a night when we celebrate the accomplishments of our talented student-athletes, it’s fitting to welcome back Chris Doleman . . . [whose] path to the Pro Football Hall of Fame started on the same fields where today’s YAIAA athletes compete.”

The event is scheduled for June 4, at 4:00 pm at the Wyndham Garden York in West Manchester Township, near Hanover. Tickets cost $50 per person and can be purchased online or in person at the York Newspaper company.
