Lidl, a German supermarket chain that has over 10,000 locations throughout Europe, will soon be opening their first stores in America on June 15th. Ribbon cutting ceremonies will be taking place at 7:40 a.m. at each of the ten locations.

The new stores will be opening in Virginia Beach and Hampton, Virginia, Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina, and in several locations throughout North Carolina such as Winston Salem, Sanford, Kinston, Rocky Mount, Greenville, and Wilson. Along with these ten stores, Lidl also plans to open another 10 stores on the East Coast later this summer. The supermarket chain is planning on opening another 80 locations over the next year as well with intended future locations in places such as Texas and Ohio.

Lidl is known for its high-quality food products, its selection of non-food products that change weekly, and its vast selection of wine, for which it received 101 medals at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition recently. Lidl also has several stores throughout Europe that specialize in non-supermarket services, such as Lidl movies or Lidl photos, which makes goods such as greeting cards and calendars. It has not been announced yet whether or not these Lidl stores will be coming to America.
