Greenville makes solar eclipse preparations

Later this month, residents of Greenville, South Carolina will be able to experience a total solar eclipse as the moon blocks out the sun in the afternoon.

Residents of Greenville will also be able to partake in a variety of events that are happening as a result of the solar eclipse. Some of the locations that will be holding events leading up to and during the eclipse and during the eclipse include the Roper Mountain Science Center, Furman University, Bob Jones University, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate, NOMA Square, the Embassy Suites Greenville Golf Resort and Conference Center, the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery, and Ink N Ivy. However, locals should remember that many of these locations will have limited space and those interested should purchase tickets or reserve space as soon as possible.

The solar eclipse will take place on August 21 and will reach totality in Greenville at 2:38 pm, remaining completely covered until 2:40 pm. However, the eclipse is an event that will be taking place for several hours throughout the day.
