Eight to ten local caterers and Maryland restaurants will be competing for the coveted ‘Maryland’s Top Crab Cake’ trophy next month.

Maryland Business Connection’s 4th Annual Crab Cake Challenge is just weeks away, and local businesses will be exhibiting at the event.

Visitors to the Challenge will be the judges, and they will be sampling crab cakes and soup. They will vote for their favorite crab items, and the results will be announced at a reception. Five or six local beverage companies will be handing out drink samples.

In addition to the crab cake and soup, tickets will include other food and beverage samples, entry into Casino Night, and a DJ for the challenge. Admission will also include hourly drawings for door prizes, an interactive photo booth, and an entertainment and sports memorabilia silent auction.

Over 60 local businesses will be exhibiting their goods and services in the exhibitor area. Their representative will be handing out flyers, brochures, discount coupons, and samples of their goods and services.

Guests as well as business reps will be bringing their digital business cards to exchange information with each other during the Networking Reception that will run for two hours after the Challenge.

The event will be Tuesday, September 19 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Michael’s Eighth Avenue, 7220 Grayburn Drive, Glen Burnie. The Networking Reception will begin at 8:00 pm and wind down around 10:00 pm.
