Georgetown welcomes Cupid’s Chase in February

The Texas City of Georgetown will host its annual Cupid’s Chase 5K & Fun Run next month.

The event is run by the Parks & Recreation Administration in Georgetown, and is sponsored by Star Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. Other sponsorship spots are still currently available.

The event will combine a 5K Run/Walk event with a Kids’ Fun Run, with both races beginning at the intersection between 7th and Main Street. The Kids’ event will begin at 7:30 am, while the 5K event will begin at 8:00 am sharp. Participants are asked to line up for their event by anticipated race pace; runners who expect to be slower should be closer to the back. The event will be chip-timed, and results will be available online after the race. The top three participants in each event will be part of an awards ceremony.

The annual race also includes a costume event; those who are interested should wear their favorite Valentine’s Day attire, and can stop by the table for costume contests at the finish line to be entered for prizes. Refreshments will be available for race participants only, but spectators are welcome to bring their own foods and beverages as they move along the course.

Companies that sponsor community events often get their logo placed in brochures or on banners to promote their business at the event itself.
