Craft-loving residents in Georgetown are clearing their calendars for the 2017 Sunflower Sensations Quilt and Stitchery Show.

The two-day event features sales, auctions, competitions, and more, all surrounding quilts and other stitch work.

Sponsored by Handcrafts Unlimited, the show includes hundreds of unique, handcrafted creations all made by locals in the Georgetown area. Participants can sign up to simply show off their work, sell some of their handmade items, or even enter the challenge block for a little friendly competition. The show is opened for all forms of stitchery, including needlepoint, cross-stitch, and embroidery.

Additionally, the show will feature a number of vendors selling fabric, supplies, and tools needed for crafting, as well as scissor sharpening. A silent auction will be held selling unique quilts and stitch work featuring special graphic design to the highest bidder. Visitors can also buy a raffle ticket at the show to have chance of winning a very special quilt. Anyone who works up a bit of an appetite can also find a snack and beverage in the tea room.

The Sunflower Sensations Quilt and Stitchery Show will be held this Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the Community Center in San Gabriel Park, located at 445 E. Morrow St. Admission is $6 a person. Anyone looking for more info should visit the website.
