Georgetown area symposium to be all about Alzheimer’s

April 9, 2018 by

Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia affect older adults from every walk of life, and a workshop that will share caregiving tips is on the agenda for members of the public from Georgetown and the surrounding areas..

The daylong event will focus both on caring for the individual with Alzheimer’s disease and also the importance of self-care for their families and others who help to meet their daily needs. It is being hosted by Stoney Brook Senior Living and presented by a facilitator from Alzheimer’s Texas.

A number of topics will be addressed during the occasion, and there will also be an opportunity for the attendees to learn, through hands on experience, techniques they can use to enhance the quality of life for an Alzheimer’s patient. There will also be time for networking, and a discussion of the importance of looking after themselves as well.

This educational opportunity is being offered free of charge, and both a box lunch and light breakfast will be served. Print shops in the local area can be called upon to supply any handouts and other materials that can help those who take part learn even more during the function.

April 27 has been selected as the date for this occasion. It will be held at 210 N. Main in Belton. The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce’s website includes more details about the day.
