Move of Gastonia eatery prompts owners to open new type of restaurant

The relocation of Jia Asian Fusion and Sushi Bar to a new space in southeast Gastonia has enabled owner Peter Wu to expand the offerings of the restaurant in its former location to residents in the area.

Wu recently opened The Brass Monkey in the former spot of Jia Asian Fusion, with a very different set of culinary offerings.

General manager of Jia Asian Fusion and The Brass Monkey, Susan Tamtomo, commented that the goal of the new restaurant was to have good, fresh quality food that everyone could enjoy. She added that the new restaurant is unlike many other restaurants in the area.

Following a series of soft openings, Wu announced that the restaurant is now fully operational and open at its regular business hours. These are 11:00 am to 10:00 pm from Tuesday through Thursday, 11:00 am to 10:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 11:00 am to 9:30 pm on Sunday, with the restaurant being closed on Mondays.

Wu teamed up with Tamtomo in late 2012 and the two decided to open a new location north of the restaurant, as it had outgrown its current location.

Business owners such as Wu and Tamtomo can work with a flyer printing company to communicate with customers about the new restaurant at the former location, perhaps offering specials to celebrate the opening.
