Fuquay Varina has something for kids and teens

March 6, 2018 by

Over the next couple of months, Fuquay Varina will be the site of several events for children and teens.

FV’s children will be grabbing their Easter baskets and heading for downtown during the Downtown Candy Hop. As is the tradition, local merchants will be handing out candy to little ones.

The annual Easter egg hunt that has traditionally been on the Saturday before Easter has been moved this year to a Sunday. The free event has been changed to accommodate the local school’s make up day. Over 12,000 plastic eggs filled with goodies will be waiting for local children under the age of 11. Three areas will have eggs and each area will have an age limit. Parents can get pictures of their little ones with the Easter Bunny, and many will be taking them to local print shops for poster printing.

Teen Day is an annual event sponsored by the local police department to help teens learn about the effects of distracted driving and drinking. The first 250 Drive Wise Course finishers will get free T-shirts.

FVDA’s Downtown Candy Hop will be from 2:00 until 4:00 pm, March 24 in both downtown districts in Fuquay Varina. The Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for March 25 starting at 2:00 pm at South Park, 900 South Main Street.

Teen Day will be April 14 this year. It will be in Falcon Park at 611 E. Academy Street.
