Fuquay-Varina set for yearly business expo

The local chamber of commerce will soon be hosting its Core Connection Business Expo for the seventh year.

It will be a celebration of old and new businesses that are drawing new businesses into southern Wake County. The expo brings in hundreds of regional and local people, which makes it a good venue for networking and reaching new consumers. Over 100 vendors are expected.

This year’s event will have a Health and Wellness Corner and a business resource area. Workshops will be held for startups, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. A ‘Town of Fuquay-Varina’ booth will have Police Chief Laura Fahnestock meeting passersby at intermittent times throughout the afternoon. Area restaurants will be giving out free food samples too.

The expo will also be set up as a career fair. Vendors and organizations will be looking for new employees and networking will be encouraged. Booths will be handing out flyers and brochures describing their business or organization’s products and services. Those attendees who will be looking for employment will want to update their digital business cards, or get some business card printing done beforehand.

Anyone, whether a member or not, may reserve booth space. However, there is a discount for members.

The expo will be August 25th from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at Fuquay-Varina Community Center, 820 S. Main Street.
