Ft. Lauderdale dives into winter celebrations

December 1, 2017 by

The Ft. Lauderdale Symphony of Lights is in full swing at Gulfstream Park, with regular events each night, and special celebrations on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Symphony of Lights draws visitors from around South Florida with its nightly holiday music, 50-foot decorated tree, and thousands of lights. The synchronized show begins on the hour every hour from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM nightly. On Friday and Saturday nights through December 23, there will also be visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, stilt walkers and juggling acts, train rides, face painting, and an interactive DJ.

Holiday events are often promoted with flyer printing and other brochure items that can be distributed around the local community.

The annual event kicked off on November 24 with an opening night celebration. The event ran from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and included a chance to take selfies with the Clauses, which would make great holiday cards. Other events were train rides, tattoo artists, and face painters. Cirque de Soleil Volta also performed as part of the opening event; Volta is a new show focusing on the power of transformation and the adventurous spirit behind action spots. Cirque de Soleil Volta will also be performing near the Hard Rock Stadium, at the big top, on December 15.

The event continues until December 31. For more information about the Symphony of Lights, contact Gulfstream Park.
